Peyto Lake

Peyto Lake

August 03, 2008 | Banff National Park

This is Peyto Lake at Banff National Park. The spectacular color of the lake is the result of glacial silt fed from the glacier at the west end of the lake (to the left out of sight). The silt reflects the colors from the sky and changes in tone throughout the year depending on the amount of silt in the water.
