Driftwood Reflection

Driftwood is everywhere along the coast. For the longest time I thought that these giant pieces of wood had floated across the ocean to come and lie here, because surely nothing this grand would have fallen in this amazing place. But I am wrong. most pieces of driftwood are from upstream of the rivers along the coastline. They fall and are carried by the streams to the oceans where they are tossed around for decades before finally decaying and starting the the giant circle again.

In this shot I found this nice little high tide pool reflecting the sunset at Rialto Beach. I love the motion in the waves in the distance in contrast to the calmness in the foreground.
