Goosenecked BarnaclesAugust 27, 2007 | Olympic National Park These were one of the craziest animals I found in the tide pools. They are Goosenecked Barnacles, but one could easily mistake them for some spawn from the movie Alien. These little creatures would retract when touched, that made them a bit more creepy! It was amazing that I was actually able to get this picture taken. The wind was so fierce on the tip of the coast I was that I had a hard time walking straight. This made it extra hard to take a telephoto image with a slow shutter speed! | | | | MetadataCamera Nikon D200 Lens 70-200mm f/2.8G ED-IF AF-S VR Zoom-Nikkor Shutter and f/stop 1/10 sec. @ f/8.0
