Mount Index from Lake Serene

This is Mount Index as seen from the shores of Lake Serene. The hike up to the lake was long and steep at points, but definitely worth the destination. Every single person I saw reach the Lake had the mouth wide open gasping at the amazing, Alp-like view.

Mount Index is a popular climbing peak in the Central Cascades, just an hour or so from Seattle, Washington. At 5,300 feet it is one of many high peaks within the Cascade Mountain Range.
