Seattle from Dr. Jose Rizal ParkApril 02, 2007 | Seattle I had never been here, but knew it existed. This is Dr. Jose Rizal Park on the northern tip of Beacon Hill, which overlooks the I-5 and I-90 Interchange just south of downtown Seattle. The park itself is unimpressive - I think it's mostly a dog-run and is clearly over-run with drugs and litter. The view on the other hand is remarkable. Here you can catch a great profile of the city (minus the Space Needle). On the far left in this image you can see the Smith Tower - at one time the tallest building west of the Mississippi. In the center you can see Seattle's three tallest buildings - from left to right - Columbia Tower, Seattle Municipal Tower and Union Square One (or Two - I forget!). Across the freeway on the far right is First Hill, also commonly referred to as 'Pill Hill,' because of all of the Hospitals located there. | | | | MetadataCamera Nikon D200 Lens 17-55mm f/2.8G ED-IF AF-S DX Zoom-Nikkor Shutter and f/stop 360 sec. @ f/22.0
