Lake AnnOctober 08, 2005 | North Cascades National Park Beautiful Lake Ann nestled in the hills along the edge of North Cascades National Park. This was one of the last weekends that the North Cascades Highway was open to allow hikers. In fact, I would not have recommended hiking this trail any later than I did. The snow at the top was a few inches deep, but so few people hiked it that losing the trail was a real possibility. On the way down, my friend and I saw a lone brown bear roaming the hill side. In fact, had we not seen the bear through a clearing when we stopped to take a drink of water, we probably would have come face to face with him about 2 minutes later - that wouldn't have been a pretty site. | | | | MetadataCamera Nikon D70 Lens 18-70mm f/3.5-4.5G ED-IF AF-S DX Zoom Nikkor Shutter and f/stop 1/125 sec. @ f/14.0
