The Road Through the Redwoods

The Road Through the Redwoods

August 28, 2006 | Redwood National Park

Before this trip I had never seen a redwood - I was expecting them to be huge and I wasn't disappointed. I thought it was odd though that Highway 101 drove right through the heart of the groves - kind of an interesting clash between nature and the industrialized world.

I took this shot because it showed the balance and how close the trees are to taking back the land that was theirs. This road, just off of Hwy 101, was not very busy and actually kind of peaceful. I highly recommend getting out of your car and going for a hike though!
