On the way to PolychromeJune 09, 2006 | Denali National Park Traveling by bus through Denali is pretty much your only choice. Having never seen any photos of Denali (besides Mount McKinley), I didn't really know what to expect. What I had seen thus far of Denali was amazing, but as soon as we made this turn and headed towards Polychrome my jaw dropped. This amazing valley carved by glaciers and thousands of years of ice and harsh weather was amazing.
This shot was taken before we got to the lookout and I think it is a more unique view of the valley in that you can see right up one of the glacial valleys deep into the mountains (center). The colors were spectacular in the far hills - hence Polychrome - many colors. | | | | MetadataCamera Nikon D70 Lens 18-70mm f/3.5-4.5G ED-IF AF-S DX Zoom Nikkor Shutter and f/stop 1/125 sec. @ f/9.5
