Mount ShuksanSeptember 24, 2005 | North Cascades National Park This is a shot taken from the hills leading to Mt Baker of Mount Shuksan, a magnificent mountain in the North Cascades National Park. As you can see, it was a perfectly clear autumn day, and was perfect for photography. I used a tripod in this shot so I could take my time and compose the picture just how I wanted it. I had to wait quite a while for the lake, Artist Lake, to calm and show the reflection of the mountain. I wish I could say that I hiked for hours to get this shot, but in fact I only hiked about 100 feet from the road (don't worry I had already gotten my hike in).
I've heard from others that this mountain has appeared in many calenders and books, placing it in far off places like China or India. | | | | MetadataCamera Nikon D70 Lens 18-70mm f/3.5-4.5G ED-IF AF-S DX Zoom Nikkor Shutter and f/stop 1/100 sec. @ f/7.1
